Will fresh mint and/or mint candies lower the temperature of water?

PREDICTION/ HYPOTHESIS

If we put fresh mint in the water, it will cool it quicker than any other items because it's fresh.

If we put mentos in water, it will cool more/quicker than altoids because of the size.

If we put mint substances in water, then the temperature will not change.

PLANNING

Materials- per group

One of each: peppermint candy, fresh mint leaf, Altoid, tic tac, mint flavored mento

small cups

water 

thermometer 

six cups of warm water

First, we will get the temperature of the warm water. 

Then, we will place them mint substance in warm water and stir. 

After that, we will take the temperature after 3 minutes, after 7 minutes, and after 10 minutes as the final temperature. You may use your phone as a stopwatch. 

Lastly, we take the temperature of the control water.

CLAIMS AND EVIDENCE
Originally we predicted that mint would change the temperature of the water. We discovered that it does not change the temperature. We discovered this by continuously taking the temperature of the water with thermometers over a certain period of time throughout the experiment.

CONCLUSION/REFLECTION 
In this experiment we discovered that even though mint cools the mouth, it does not cool or change the temperature of water when placed in water.

Why is it that mint cools the mouth but didn't cool the water?
